A brief overview of VBS differences this year…

We are excitedly preparing to welcome Pre-k to 6th grade students in about a month! Due to the ongoing pandemic, VBS will look a bit different this year. A few ways are included below; however, this is subject to change based on NYS and CDC guidelines. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Church Office. If things drastically change before the start of our in-person VBS, an online format will be available. Registered children will be able to pick up their supplies for the week prior to Monday evening and they will be given instructions to access the online VBS activities.

  • Online Pre-Registration is required! A health screening questionaire will be sent by email and must be completed prior to the start of VBS.
  • Attendance will be capped at 10 children per age group, for a total 40 children.
  • Children will not be required to wear face coverings, however, adults and teen helpers will be required to wear face coverings at all times.
  • Children will be asked to use hand sanitizer and/or wash hands frequently.
  • Gloves will be worn, and changed often, when adults are distributing materials (crafts, lesson, etc.) to children.
  • During the three large group activities (opening program, snack, & closing program), each group will be socially distanced from other groups in the sanctuary and fellowship hall.
  • Lesson, craft, snack, and game areas will be arranged to allow for social distancing as much as possible.
  • Snacks and drinks will be pre-packaged or pre-portioned in individual containers.
  • Commonly used surfaces in classrooms (tables, chairs, etc.) will be sanitized between groups.
  • Common area spaces and objects (door handles, pews, hand rails, etc.) will be sanitized as frequently as possible.
  • Bathrooms will be sanitized as frequently as possible.
  • The building will be sanitized each day before the start of VBS.
  • Parents will be asked to wait outside.
  • There will be one way traffic throughout the building, as much as possible.
  • Decorations will be kept to a minimum to prevent touching of surfaces that cannot be sanitized.
